HBO Max has announced the development of a Harley Quinn spin-off series based on the popular DC animated show, now streaming on their service, along with further details on Harley Quinn season 3. The series will be called Noonan’s and will focus primarily on Kite Man, a side character from the show who purchases Noonan’s Bar, a dive bar hangout for the hitmen and henchmen of Gotham City.

“He tries to run the bar by himself but it doesn’t turn out so easy. We have Harley and Ivy appear in the first episode, but after that, we have different goons and villains appearing every episode like Lex Luthor and Bane. It will be kind of like ‘Cheers’ for supervillains”, the official description provided by Warner Bros executive and Harley Quinn co-creator Patrick Schumaker reafs.
“Noonan’s” and Harley Quinn Season 3
The Harley Quinn spin-off series was first teased by Schumaker at the SXSW as part of the Not Kidding Around: Warner Bros. Animation and the Reimagining of Iconic Characters for an Adult Audience panel. Though the exact details are limited, Schumaker still confirmed that the series was in development and HBO Max, and information regarding it will come in the future.
In addition to the announcement of a Harley Quinn spin-off, Schumaker also provided further details on the current state of Harley Quinn season 3. Although a release was not confirmed for Harley Quinn season 3, Schumaker reassured that it would come “soon” and provided a few details on upcoming episodes. One episode will pay homage to Harley Quinn’s first-ever official appearance from the Batman: The Animated Series episode “Joker’s Favor,” which aired back in 1992. Apparently, it will be a “big love letter to Batman: The Animated Series.” Schumaker also revealed that James Gunn, the writer, and director of The Suicide Squad, will be making an appearance in the upcoming season, though how this would play out exactly was not specified.
