Have you gotten a letter yet to join Hogwarts? No? Well, this may be your best chance to show off what you know about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. A trailer has been released online for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses, a four-day event, where contestants will compete in a bracket-style trivia competition. This trivia competition will be split up into the four Hogwarts houses: Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, and Slytherin. This series will premiere on TBS and Cartoon Network on Sunday, November 28, and will debut new episodes every Sunday until December 19.
Hosted by Helen Mirren, this game show will feature contestants participating in various trivia games where they can show off their Harry Potter knowledge. The trailer also teases some games that will require a more hands-on approach. The setting featured in the trailer looks like a room in Hogwarts castle and the audience is wearing outfits themed to whichever house they’re sitting behind. In addition to Miren, the trailer also teases many of the celebrity guests who will be appearing on the show including Simon Fisher-Becker, Luke Youngblood, Shirley Henderson, Tom Felton, Pete Davidson, Jay Leno, and more.
Each house will be competing for the grand trophy, shown in the trailer. However, according to Collider, the winners will also receive plenty of amazing Harry Potter experiences including “a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Wizarding World locations across the East Coast of the United States, a $1,000 shopping spree at the Harry Potter New York Store, tickets to the award-winning Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a trip to the brand-new touring experience Harry Potter: The Exhibition, a three-day/night trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort, and an advanced screening of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.”
The first day will feature Gryffindor vs. Hufflepuff for a guaranteed spot in the grand finale. The second day will be Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin with a similar outcome. The losing teams will still have another chance to try for the grand finale in the wild card round on day 3. The fourth day will be the grand finale where one house will be declared the ultimate Harry Potter fans.
