Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is one of the most immersively gripping experiences to ever grace a gaming platform. Now, alongside being able to hear voices in your head, you’ll be able to experience the trauma firsthand with the VR edition of the game.
In the introductory video to the virtual reality edition, Ninja Theory talks about how VR will create a whole new experience for gamers. It was revealed that the technology will feature camera tricks and head-tracking control methods to prevent players from feeling nauseated while they play.
Porting Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice comes with a lot of challenge too, most notably, the optimization and graphics department. The VR Edition of the game will require players to have a minimum of an Nvidia GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon RX 580 GPU to run the game at its intended 90 frames-per-second frame rate.
Unfortunately, due to the hefty hardware requirements, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will not be coming to PSVR. On the bright side, the VR edition will be available to owners of the original game who purchased the game on Steam for free.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice VR Edition will be available on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive on July 31st.
