Advanced screeners for X-Men Hellfire Gala #1 are officially out in the wild. Writer Gerry Duggan warned readers of these press reviews and asked that the images are not shared. However, the images soon found themselves online, revealing the Quiet Council’s choices for the new X-Men team.
SPOILERS…Who Is Chosen?
Please be warned that the following will contain spoilers for X-Men Hellfire Gala #1!
As the images from the issue spread, several comic insiders posted their reactions to the new team. Of course, this also meant that they spoiled who was chosen. The next lineup of mutant superheroes includes Jean Grey, Cyclops, Iceman, Havoc, Firestar, Magik, Synch, and Forge.
While Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Iceman are old hats at being part of the X-Men, there are a few surprises on the roster. In fact, the addition of Forge and Firestar appears to be getting the biggest reactions from those that have been spoiled. However, further press review pages hint that those two mutants have some big secrets up their sleeves. In one panel, Forge and Charles discuss how Forge’s addition will affect something known as “Project Blackbox.” However, Forge is adamant that he would rather be kicked off the team than risk anything going awry with this secret project.
Meanwhile, Firestar is seen talking with Tony Stark. In congratulating her for her promotion, the Avenger notes how big of an opportunity this is for her. He also suggests that she can alert Tony to anything she thinks the Avengers should know about.
More on the Hellfire Gala
The second annual Hellfire Gala officially kicks off on July 13. Gerry Duggan, C.F. Villa, Matteo Lolli, Russell Dauterman, and Kris Anka are gearing up to top last year’s event. A big feat considering the previous Gala revealed that mutants terraformed Mars. However, Duggan and company are confident that this issue is even bigger. What could possibly be bigger than changing the face of the solar system?
