September looks to be a busy one for gamers. With over 50 games coming out across all platforms, it seems all of us will start having very little free time. Especially with multiple games coming out on the same day! Here we’ll take a look at a few of the heavy hitters and by the end, we will have a full list of what is going to be coming out this month.
Cathrine: Full Body (PS4) – September 3rd
The cautionary tale of Vincent Brooks released in the last generation to very good reviews, and now it’s getting a remaster for a new audience on September 3rd. The very Japanese puzzle game deals with Vincent trying to juggle two women, one Catherine, and the other Katherine, and continually getting himself in deeper trouble. All the while battling troubling nightmares that might actually be killing some people. Along with shiny new graphics, Catherine: Full Body adds a third story with a new woman named Rin. Your Choices affect the story with multiple endings and Vincent’s fate relying on your decisions.
Final Fantasy VIII Remastered (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch) – September 3rd
After years of waiting, one of the more beloved entries in the Final Fantasy series is finally getting a remaster. Final Fantasy 8 brought the story down from focusing on saving the world and brought it to more of a love story. In the past, the 8th entry into the series has been divisive, with some people hating the love story focus and the infamous Drawing Magic System, while some people loved the story and the famous Triple Triad card game subquest. With the game releasing on September 3rd across all platforms, a new audience will be able to make the decision for themselves.
Blasphemous (PS4, PC, Xbox One, Switch) – September 10Â
The Kickstarter that took the gaming world by storm is finally getting released this month. Blasphemous smashed its Kickstarter goals and is coming out for all platforms. The hyperviolent Soul-like Metroidvania platformer takes a spin on Spanish religious lore as you play the Penitent One going on a pilgrimage across this nightmare world for an unknown reason. Unlock the mystery on September 10th.
Borderlands 3 (PC, Xbox One, PS4) – September 13
Despite all the controversy surrounding the development of the game, Borderlands 3 still remains one of the bigger releases of the month. The third entry into the beloved shooter franchise is looking to be one of the more crazier entries into the franchise. Promising more mayhem and more guns, our return to Pandora on September 13th seems like it will be a memorable one.
Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening (Switch) – September 20
Another entry into another beloved franchise, Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening is the newest entry on the Nintendo Switch. A remake of the Gameboy version from 1993, this one became one of the more popular into the series and has been generating a lot of buzz recently with a younger generation wanting to experience this game. Link’s Awakening drops for the Switch on September 20th.
That wraps up most of the heavy hitters coming out this month. The full list will be below and after you look at it, let me know what you’re looking forward to in this huge month for gaming.
