Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will hit the silver screen in North America beginning next month, August 19, following its screening in Japan, which started earlier this month. The list of theaters that hold the honor of showing the flick is limited but is expected to lengthen as time goes on. The current locations are as follows:

AMC in Orange, CA
AMC in San Jose, CA
AMC in Santa Clara, CA
AMC in Lake Buena Vista, FL
AMC in New York, NY
AMC in Dallas, TX
Alamo Drafthouse in El Paso, TX
AMC and Alamo Drafthouse in Houston, TX
Alamo Drafthouse in Lubbock, TX
AMC in Alexandria, VA
Alamo Drafthouse in Winchester, VA
Sundance Seattle in Seattle, WA

Again, this list is preliminary, and more locations will likely be revealed closer to the screening date. Square Enix has also released a trailer for the movie teasing the plot and a few of the actors.

The kingdom of Lucis is under attack by the militaristic Niflheim, who intend to steal the land’s magical Crystal. King Regis is forced to marry his son, Noctis, to princess Lunafreya, who is a captive of Niflheim, and accept their takeover. However, when it becomes clear nothing will stop the invasion, Regis dispatches a band of elite warriors called the Kingsglaive to defend the kingdom. Regis is played by Sean Bean, while Aaron Paul portrays the Kingsglaive’s leader, Nyx. Lunafreya will be voiced by Lena Headey.

Kingsglaive is the sixth Final Fantasy movie to be produced, following Legend of the Crystals (1994), The Spirits Within (2001), Unlimited (2001), Advent Children (2005), and Advent Children Complete (2005), which was an extended version of the original. FFXV’s digital version will become available on August 30, very soon after its theater run. The DVD and Blu-ray copies will appear in stores later this year on October 4.
