Erika Jayne and Kathy Hilton recently had another one of their epic fights. The Kathy Hilton gay slur saga occurred when Erika accused Kathy of homophobia during their disastrous Aspen vacation. Meanwhile, Kathy denied the allegation, claiming that Erika made it up, but Erika vehemently stood by her word. Find out more below.
Erika Jayne’s Reason For Calling Kathy Out
Erika Jayne and Kathy Hilton haven’t been on the best terms for a while. However, she called out Kathy for a different reason. The Pretty Mess singer is an ardent supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community.
A source told Page Six:
“Erika cares deeply for the LGBTQIA+ community. They have been by her side since the very beginning of her career, even before Housewives.”
The 51-year-old felt compelled to take a stand because of the support she got from the community through the years.
“No one on her cast is going to attack the LGBTQIA+ community and go unchecked,” the source continued.
The Kathy Hilton Gay Slur Accusation Led To An Inquiry
Andy Cohen stated during the RHOBH Season 12 reunion that HR launched an inquiry into the matter. However, the findings were inconclusive because there was no one to verify either party’s claims.
The fight happened on the third and final installment of the RHOBH Season 12 reunion. Erika accused Hilton of calling a DJ an “old f–king f-g” while on the Aspen cast trip.
The RHOBH star explained that she saw Kathy coming from the dance floor, looking very upset. She decided to ask the latter what happened, and Kathy replied with a gay slur before she walked off.
While Kathy admitted that she was “frustrated” with a manager at the Caribou Club, she denied using a gay slur. The socialite claimed she was frustrated because the DJ told her he was “way too busy” to accept song requests that night.
Kathy also asserted that she would always own up to her actions, but she didn’t do what Erika accused her of. The situation was also ironic because Kathy is a strong supporter of the queer community herself.
The 63-year-old supports the gay community in various capacities. She was grand marshal in the Los Angeles Pride Parade in 2005 and advocates for LGBTQIA+ organizations such as GLAAD.
Erika and Kathy had a tug of war on who was right to no end since there was no eyewitness. However, Erika insists that she won’t back down.
“I was there. It happened. What the ‘audience’ chooses to believe is beyond my control,” the actress alleged in a statement shared via her Instagram Story earlier on Wednesday, October 26.
Erika Jayne and Kathy Hilton haven’t been on the best of terms since the Aspen trip. Kathy also insisted that she won’t return to RHOBH if Erika and Lisa Rinna return. At this point, Bravo producers need to step in to end the rift between the stars once and for all.
