After Heritage Auctions announced that it will hold its first Dragon Ball showcase auction, the date for the auction has also been confirmed. This announcement was first confirmed Monday but was followed up soon by the company. All of the pieces in the showcase will feature items from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT.
The auction will feature over 200 lots. These lots include trading cards, production cels, and original printings of Weekly Shonen Jump issues. This also includes cels from the very first episodes of Dragon Ball, and Dragon Ball Z. Many of these cels include characters such as Goku, Vegeta, Krillin, Piccolo, Bulma, and fan-favorite villains. Other notable collector’s items include copies of the Viz Media Dragon Ball comic books in the CGC database, the Dragon Ball manga’s debut issue, and a set of seven rare promotional trading cards (all PSA-graded).
Heritage Auctions has previously had several animation auctions for numerous anime titles. The previous Art of Anime and Everything Cool Auction sold more than $USD 2.1 million in June 2021. It included 928 lots and was the first auction held by a major auction house to focus on anime art materials.
