Metal Gear Solid has been one holy hell of a crazy ride for Hideo Kojima. And equally crazy for the fans, who had to play through some of the series’ more eccentric moments. I don’t think I’ll ever stop mentioning the time I stabbed an alligator in the ass until it keeled over and then ate it in Snake Eater, while hunting down those creepy little frog-freaks.
There have been so many iconic moments. Putting down those dirty magazines to distract the guards, touching yourself in a locker while Otacon talks at you via codec, that endless ladder climb while dramatic music played, the rollerskating cocktail drinking explosive fat guy… Metal Gear is melodramatic. It’s nuts. It’s sometimes both at once. And we love it for it.
Anywho, it’s the end of an era right here. As The Phantom Pain’s release approaches, prepare yourselves to ogle Kojima’s final Metal Gear Solid series trailer.
As IGN reports, this clip is the main man’s swansong, really, so excuse him for getting a little nostalgic and memory lane-y on our asses. The first part is a look back at some highlights of previous entries, before we get into the nitty Phantom Pain gritty. In the classic Kojima style, it’s a super-dramatic affair, featuring more explosions and tears rolling down cheeks in slow motion than you can probably handle.
But hey, give it a go below anyway.

Oh, and yep. That header image does look like Snake’s about to drop the hottest R&B album of 2015, and I make no apologies for it.
