A new trailer has dropped for Hogwarts Legacy, the game set in the Harry Potter universe, and the new trailer also comes with an insight into a cool new detail that will be included in the game. All we’re saying is that you will feel like an actual Wizard or Witch with this feature.
The Hogwarts Legacy trailer shows how the game will utilize the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller during gameplay. A lot of the footage in the trailer is from March’s Hogwarts Legacy State of Play presentation, but even so, it does provide us with an idea of how haptic feedback, 3D audio, and a few more features will be used. You can watch the trailer for this game set in the Harry Potter universe below.
What Else Do We Know About This New Hogwarts Legacy Feature?
So, a few more details about this Hogwarts Legacy feature are as follows: Spells cast with the player’s wand will produce haptic feedback (the vibration in your control pad); this will allow the user to feel like they are holding a wand. And depending on the spell you use, the tension in the controller will also feel different as well.
Warner Bros Games community manager Chandler Wood spoke about this new Hogwarts Legacy feature recently, “We’ve specifically isolated these effects to the right side of the controller to let the DualSense become an extension of the wand you hold in the game.” He went on to add, “And when you deflect a spell with Protego for example, you’ll feel the sizzling of the magic being reflected and absorbed by the Shield Charm.”
But the Haptic feedback won’t only be used for spells in Hogwarts Legacy because it will also come into effect when you wannabe wizards attempt to create potions and fly on your broomsticks. And finally, the lights on your DualSense will also change color depending on what house you have been sorted into – it really is the little things that go a long way.
Stay tuned for more information on this upcoming game set in the Harry Potter universe; it’s going to be one to remember, that’s for sure.
