It is yet another sad news day for Hogwarts Legacy enthusiasts on PS4 and Xbox One after the announcement of a second delay towards its launch on the two consoles. According to a release today by Warner Bros. on Twitter, the two last-generation systems will receive the game on May 5, 2023.

Hogwarts Legacy currently holds the title of the best-selling Harry Potter game of all time. The game has recorded a whopping 12 million copies sales in just two weeks. Within that same time frame, players accumulated over 267 million in-game hours.
A sequel has already been teased, and a TV show may be in the works. Many are still waiting for the game, though. Hogwarts Legacy has only been released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The bad news is that Hogwarts Legacy’s previous-gen release has been delayed yet again. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy were originally supposed to release alongside the new-gen versions on February 10, 2023.
However, in December, the release for the last-gen versions was moved to April 4, 2023. That date has been postponed once again. Hogwarts Legacy will now release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 5, 2023.
Announcing the news, the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account mentioned that they were overwhelmed with gratitude for the response to Hogwarts Legacy from fans around the globe. For this reason, the team felt they needed to deliver the best possible experience on all platforms. Therefore, Avalanche and WB are asking for more time to reach the PS4 and Xbox One goals.
From the date of release of February 10, 2023, Hogwarts Legacy has sold over 12 million units and has become the biggest launch ever for Warner Bros. The sales are estimated to record another shoot with the launch of Hogwarts Legacy for PS4 and Xbox One on May 5, 2023.
