Portkey Games and Avalanche Software finally announced the release date for their upcoming title Hogwarts Legacy, which is now slated for February 10, 2023. Initially announced in 2020 with a release date of 2021, like many games over the last year, were postponed to the holiday season of 2022. Posted to Twitter, the announcement meant that the release of the game will be delayed a few more weeks. The delay will primarily affect the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC versions of the title, with the developers stating a Nintendo Switch release “will be revealed soon.”
“The team is excited for you to play, but we need a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience.” The tweet goes on to say.

An Announcement Met With Understanding and Displeasure
Until now, there have been several gameplay trailers and screenshots for players to chew on until the release date. Still, the response on Twitter is mixed with some happy that they’re taking the time they need to finish the game and others beginning to express their disappointment when faced with a second delay announcement. Unfortunately, we still have yet to see a hands-on preview or any extended look at the game, but we got to see some character customization and a glimpse of the story villain.
With a February 10 release date on the horizon, if you are excited about picking up the game, it’ll be available on PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox One & Series X|S.
