HoYoverse has officially confirmed that the long-awaited, space fantasy RPG title, Honkai: Star Rail’s release date will be on April 26th, 2023. Fans of the Honkai Impact series were also excited to receive confirmation that Honkai: Star Rail’s PlayStation version of the game is in development as well. Players will be able to pre-register to Honkai Star Rail on HoYoverse’s official website.
The Boarding Preparation Special Program Shows Off Honkai Impact Game Play And More!
In a video titled “Boarding Preparation Special Program,” HoYoverse showed off some more gameplay, as well as official voice actors. Unlike Genshin Impact, HoYoverse’s last game, Honkai: Star Rail will feature intuitive, turn-based combat. Like Genshin Impact, however, it will be a free-to-play game with Gacha elements.
Players, also known as Trailblazers, will use resources for a chance to receive characters, similar to a Gacha machine. Trailblazers will then be able to level up these characters, and use them in Honkai: Star Rail’s combat and general gameplay. Although players will generally be able to receive the characters they want through grinding, purchasing in-game currency can speed up the process and give higher chances to receive a character. A good example of how this works is Genshin Impact’s banner system.

Honkai Star Rail’s Release Will Have Many Rewards For Players To Earn
The Special Program also showed off many rewards and in-game bonuses that will be available to players. For example, Honkai: Star Rail will offer 40 Star Rail Passes and 1600 Stellar Jade to players who have reached certain levels. Much like other HoYoverse games, players also speculate many rewards will be given out on Honkai: Star Rail’s release. These resources will give Trailblazers a major head start when rolling for their first Honkai: Star Rail character.
Honkai: Star Rail’s release will be on April 26th, 2023, for PC, Epic Games Store, iOS, and Android. Honkai: Star Rail’s PlayStation version is still being developed and will receive a release date later down the line. Once again, the game will be free-to-play but will feature some paid elements. On release, Honkai: Star Rail will be rated T for Teen.
