Known for heavy special effects, HBO will have to go in to fix some CGI from House of the Dragon. A fan pointed out on Twitter that in the third and latest episode of the Game of Thrones prequel, titled Second of His Name, King Viserys (Paddy Considine) has green screened fingers that were supposed to be missing.
The VFX artists were supposed to remove the fourth and fifth fingers of the King. It can be seen 46 minutes and eight seconds into the show when he is handing a message to be sent out to his brother, Daemon (Matt Smith). For a heavy CGI episode of House of the Dragon that was full of dragons and death, this was the only mistake pointed out.

In House of the Dragon, before needing CGI to remove any fingers, the King had several injuries from sitting on the throne. Apparently, kingdom did not think a throne made of swords was a bad idea since Viserys ended up losing two fingers. It was first introduced with an injury on his back, then a cut on his pinky got cut, which led to an infection. The maesters tried to save his pinky by having maggots preserve the flesh. Since the time jump with the latest episode, it revealed he has since lost two fingers, along with other changes in his life and the dynamics of the kingdom.
Mistakes are not new for TV shows and films. In Game of Thrones, the final season had a water bottle spotted and infamously a Starbucks cup that caught loads of attention online, despite it appearing for two seconds in the fourth episode of the eighth season.
CGI issues or not, House of the Dragon delivered the epic battles that fans got used to in the later seasons of Game of Thrones. It can be watched on HBO Max. There is no word when the update to fix the issue will be complete.
