E3 might be dead, but it does not stop the video game industry from showing what it has in store for us. In the last month, we have had a showcase from PlayStation and, most recently, Summer Game Fest. This weekend will be the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, but how and when can you watch it? We will break down everything you need to know to tune into the highly anticipated event. The Xbox ecosystem has been criticized for its lack of games, so the ball is in the company’s court to see if they can deliver in showing what the next slate of Xbox games looks like and when we can get our hands on them.
How and When You Can Watch the Xbox Games Showcase
We will see what the Xbox Games Showcase 2023 will have for us on June 11 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. The main channels for the company will livestream the event, like YouTube and Twitch. You can also watch it right here on The Nerd Stash, above! The runtime will be approximately two hours, similar to Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest from yesterday (June 8). This will be followed by a Starfield showcase, approximately at 12 p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET. That will give us a deeper look at Bethesda’s highly anticipated sci-fi RPG.
There are plenty of Xbox games releasing this year, like Forza Motorsport and Starfield, but some games are in the can that we have not heard much about. While expectations should be tempered, all sorts of games have been announced by Xbox that might be shown. Some of these are Avowed, Fable, and Hellblade 2. We can expect plenty of gameplay, in-game footage, and in-engine footage rather than traditional CG trailers.
The 2023 Xbox Games Showcase has quite the bar to reach. PlayStation was met with mixed feelings but delivered Spider-Man 2 and other big reveals. Summer Game Fest had a big show with a release date for Spider-Man 2 (October 20), Alan Wake 2 gameplay, Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay, and more. We will see this Sunday, June 11, if Xbox can satisfy its fans.
