Captain Sandy recently fired stew Camille Lamb, but fans had predicted she wouldn’t last the season. It is not very often that viewers celebrate the exit of a cast member after making their debut within the same season, but fans of Bravo’s TV series Below Deck have made an exception for Camille Lamb. Despite joining the ongoing season 10 of Below Deck with fellow newbies Hayley De Sola Pinto and Alissa Humber, Camille has dominated discussions due to her unsavory attitude.
Throughout the season, Camille’s divisive character, carefree attitude, and poor work ethic created several issues on the ship. She constantly argued with other crewmates, and Captain Sandy had to recently call her out for her bad behavior. Unsurprisingly, Camille’s lack of effort in performing her duties drew the ire of the show’s viewers, and many of them predicted she would not make it to the end of the season.
Captain Sandy Fired Camille
Camille had issues with most of the crewmates, but she had a poor relationship with Alissa Humber. Although the two had many confrontations, things recently got out of hand when they got into a fight in front of charter guests. Camille had received several warnings for her bad behavior, including her fight with Alissa. However, she finally used up all of her “second chances” when Chief stew Fraser Olender caught her drinking on the job. Camille’s antics did not go down well with chief stew Fraser Olender, who admonished her for slacking on the job. The following day, Captain Sandy fired Camille. The whole drama, which viewers watched on the show’s Jan 16 episode, has already drawn several reactions from fans.
Below Deck Fans Predicted Camille Lamb’s Sacking
Below Deck fans had long expected Camille to get axed from the series before Captain Sandy eventually fired her. The eventual sacking relieved everybody involved, including the fans and some of her co-stars. The reaction from fans after her sacking speaks volumes about how divisive a character Camille was in the series. Although most times producers push dramatic storylines, Camille’s antics were infuriating. Her attitude was so poor that many of the show’s fans predicted that she would get sacked from the series before the end of the season.
While reacting to a thread on Reddit back in December, several users name-dropped Camille as the crew member who was most likely to get sacked. Many of the commenters agreed that Camille had a poor attitude. They emphasized that her position as a fourth stew and extra deckhand made her easily replaceable. Others highlighted her decision to go swimming during charter as bad taste.
One particular user wrote:
“She is definitely going to get fired when he gets wind she went swimming during charter- yachting is not fun on charter. I feel like there’s a Kate quite that could be related to this.”
Below Deck Fans Celebrate Camille’s Firing
It is difficult to make a case for Camille based on how she portrayed herself aboard St. David. She made enemies on the ship like clockwork and behaved like she was unaware viewers were watching. Quite early into the season, Below Deck fans already had enough of Camille. So it was not surprising to see viewers of the popular reality TV series celebrating Camille’s recent sack from the show.
Immediately after her sack, Camille began trending on Twitter, with nearly 10,000 tweets about her. The common theme of the tweets was that fans were delighted to finally have Camille off the show. Camille had been walking the tightrope, and it felt like a matter of “when” and not “if” she would get fired. The reality TV star lost out with everyone but crucially struck out with the most important people — the fans!
