Chun-Li is one of the most important characters in the Street Fighter games series. This makes enough sense for the developers to put Chun-Li in Street Fighter 6 as well. But how old is Chun-Li in this new game? SF6 has a time jump in the sense of the story, hence making characters older than how they looked in SF5.
How Old Is Chun-Li?
Chun-Li is in her 30s or 40s in Street Fighter 6. Capcom does not include any year and exact date that each SF game takes place. And that is why we can not measure how old Chun-Li exactly is. However, we know that Chun-Li was born in 1968. Now if Street Fighter 6 took place in 2023, she would be nearly 60 years old! But that’s not the case.
There’s one very important detail in this game that you might have missed. Something that can give us a vital clue about how old Chun-Li or any other character is: If you play the World Tour mode, you’ll get to play as your own avatar within an open-world style game. After a while, you get to access a phone to navigate through some options and see the map. Now, take a look at the style of this phone.
The phone that you see in the World Tour mode seems a lot like the smartphones from 2010-2015. It has buttons and very bold covers around the display. Now if that is the case, then Chun-Li could be a 40-year-old master in Street Fighter 6. You have probably noticed that she is not like the one we saw in Street Fighter V. Chun-Li is now a master, running her own dojo in Metro City. However, the character’s moves and style are still how they looked in the previous SF games. You can also unlock Chun-Li’s retro outfit by playing the World Tour. If you pick her as your master and make a bond with her, you’ll unlock the second outfit for Chun-Li. You can give her gifts in World Tour to level up your bond with her as a master in SF6.
