Banking or storing Plorts is an activity that adventurers will constantly be doing throughout their playthrough in Slime Rancher 2. When a Plort has been banked, it cannot be withdrawn but can be used exclusively for crafting purposes via the Fabricator. For example, if players would like to unlock the Power Core Upgrade, they will need several hundred Newbucks and 10 Cotton Plorts. If sold at the Marketplace, these Plorts cannot be used for crafting this Upgrade. Instead, fans must know how to bank these Cotton Plorts in Slime Rancher 2 to use them only for Fabrication.
Banking Plorts in Slime Rancher 2
To bank or store Plorts in Slime Rancher 2, players must fire them into the Refinery or Refinery Link. The Refinery is a storage device that holds all crafting materials for Fabrication. This device can be found in the underground lab beneath the Conservatory, next to the Fabricator. Therefore, Plorts can be banked when fired into the Refinery’s depository.

Refinery Links serve as mobile depositories of the Conservatory’s central Refinery, where Slime Rancher 2 players can conveniently bank their Plorts. While these links can be found in the open world, they can also be placed down by the player. To Fabricate a Refinery Link, players must bank the following Plorts and resources via the Refinery in Slime Rancher 2: 250 Newbucks, 10 Phosphor Plorts, 10 Jellystone, and 10 Deep Brine. Newbucks is the primary currency earned by selling Plorts at the Plort Marketplace in the Conservatory. Phosphor Plorts, as their name implies, are Plorts acquired from Phosphor Slimes, which only appear at night in multiple biomes across Rainbow Island. As for collecting Jellystone and Deep Brine, players will need a special Upgrade known as the Resource Harvester.Â
To craft the Resource Harvester, players will need 450 Newbucks and 10 Cotton Plorts. Cotton Slimes can be found in abundance across the Rainbow Fields. Once the Resource Harvester Upgrade has been unlocked, players must search the starting area for spouting fountains and red-orbed mineral nodes to gather Jellystone and Deep Brine. Finally, return to the Fabricator and craft the Refinery Link. Press T to enter Gadget Mode, a mechanic that enables players to place down the Refinery Link at fixed points across the map. Once placed, players can fire any Plort or crafting material into the link’s depository to store their haul in Slime Rancher 2.
Slime Rancher 2Â is available on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
