Tears of the Kingdom‘s Mayamats Shrine, A Route for a Ball, isn’t easy to learn how to complete. However, TotK‘s shrines are the perfect playground for learning how to master some of the game’s mechanics. You are stuck on some puzzles because you likely aren’t using a Zonai device or an ability correctly, or at least not to its fullest potential. Mayamats Shrine, in particular, tests how well you use your Ascend, Ultrahand, and Recall abilities. Plus, it also challenges your creativity in this modern pinball game.
How To Find Mayamats Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom
Mayamays Shrine is in the Gerudo Highlands. The easiest way to reach it is to teleport to the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower and glide west until you spot the Shrine’s green spiral-y aura. First, however, you might want to avoid falling prey to the Lynel nearby.
How to complete A Route for a Ball

It’s easy to get overwhelmed by Mayamats Shrine’s many rooms. But one thing is sure: you need a metallic ball inside that placeholder device. A pinball path has already been built, leading the ball from the upper platforms to the lower one. Once you get the ball to reach the ball holder, the gates guarding the Shrine’s statue will open after that.
If you head to your left, you’ll see a strong gust of wind that can push you upwards and forward in the Mayamats Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom. Jump and open your paraglider to reach the platform above you. Once you’re there, you’ll notice both a gigantic metallic ball and a treasure chest.Â

Grab the big metallic ball with Ultrahand to access the treasure chest and drop it in the space between you and the chest. Then, jump on the metallic ball and use it to reach the treasure chest. Inside, you’ll find a Large Zonaite Charge.
While the lovely treasure won’t get you out of Mayamats Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom with a Light of Blessing, grab the big ball again and drop it on the platform nearby to proceed with the puzzle. Since the design holds it in place, place yourself below it and use Ascend to reach the top platform.Â

You’ll spot a smaller ball following a path across a small hole. Use Recall to halt the ball as it reaches the hole, then cancel the ability with L. This will cause the ball to drop on the pinball-like path and reach you directly.
Grab the small ball with Ultrahand and attach it atop the big ball. Next, drop down to the platform below and grab both balls. They should be dropped in the other pinball-like path leading to the starting platform in the Mayamats Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom.Â
For one final time, activate Ultrahand and detach the small ball from the big ball. Then, drop it on the ball holder device. Watch as the gates open and grant you access to the final room.
