“Path of Destruction” is a Favour in God of War Ragnarok that players can complete to earn a generous amount of XP for Kratos and his companion, a Dragon Claw, and Purified Crystalline. This side quest involves participants hunting down a Slag Horn, a massive grounded Drake that can offer a challenging yet engaging fight. To get started on “Path of Destruction,” players must complete the quest prerequisite “Return of The River,” after which users must travel to The Jungle Mystic Gateway and search for a narrow gap leading to the starting point of the Favour.
Completing Path Of Destruction in God of War Ragnarok
To reach the starting area of the “Path of Destruction” in God of War Ragnarok, players must head to the location where they found the Stag of Summer. This area can only be accessed during the day. If players follow the linear path on the right to the end, they will encounter the Slag Horn’s print in the mud.

After entering the “Path of Destruction” Favour’s area in God of War Ragnarok, players must drop down into a pit, spin the nearby contraption to lift the cage, and then freeze the wheel with the Leviathan Axe. The next enclosed area will contain several wolves, and players must lure these wolves into the cage they previously were in. As long as one wolf has been caught in the cage, users will be able to progress the Favour. The easiest way to trap a wolf in “Path of Destruction” is by running to the center of the open cage and rushing out before activating the mechanism to drop the walls.
A quick cutscene will indicate that the Slag Horn Drake took the wolf bait, and players must wind through the pathway back to the area where the Favour initially began. After squeezing through the wall gap for a second time, the massive Drake will be awaiting Kratos and his companions. According to gameplay by YouTuber Backseat Guides, the best way to make this opponent vulnerable is by impaling the yellow marks on the Drake with the Draupnir Spear. Detonating the spear after landing successful hits on both front legs of the Drake will cause it to fall, allowing users to spam attacks for a short period. Once the Slag Horn is dead, “Path of Destruction” will be complete.
God of War: Ragnarok is available exclusively on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
