Wanted: Molduga Walkthrough in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To start the quest WANTED: Molduga, you need to complete the introductory quests for the Purah Pad. After that, you can take this quest at Lookout Landing. Regional Phenomena will appear in the quest book, and you can go to the Emergency Shelter.

Talk to The Captain in The Emergency Shelter

There you’ll meet the monster-fighting crew, and you need to talk to the crew captain because he pays for killing monsters and will tell you about Molduga and that you can find it in the East Barrens of the Gerudo region. After talking to the captain, the target will appear on your map, but there may be a storm around Gerudo Town, so the best idea is to use the Gerudo Skyview Tower and fly directly to the sands where Molduga is hiding.

How to Find Molduga

Most likely, when you approach the marker, you will not be able to see Molduga like most other bosses. You have a small chance to see the monster jumping out of the sand from afar, but mostly you will have to look for Molduga, risking Link’s HP. To understand where this boss is, keep an eye on the sand. If you see some movement there, this means that Molduga is there. However, try not to get too close to these places because if Molduga jumps out of the sand right at you, you will lose almost all your hearts.

Use Bombs to Stun Molduga

In Breath of the Wild, it was much easier to defeat Molduga because of the bombs. But even in Tears of the Kingdom, Zonai Time Bombs are good for fighting Molduga. When he is close enough, activate the bomb and if you have chosen the right timing, you will knock Molduga out of the sand, which will give you time to deal some damage. But if there is a bomb in its path, it can simply eat it.

Another alternative is Riju’s sage ability, which you can use when you complete the Lightning Temple. Bomb Flowers attached to arrows will also work, but you need to hit Molduga when it jumps out of the sand. The monster is guided by sound, so you can lure it out by throwing a bomb or some other object and then shooting an arrow when it jumps out of the ground. It may be a little easier when you knock Molduga down to half HP because after that, it will completely hide in the sand, and it will be much easier to hit it.

Weapons You Should Use to Fight Molduga

When you knock Molduga out of the ground, and it is stunned, you will need a powerful melee weapon. A two-handed sword with a strong charge attacks will do well. You can also add a material to the Zora-type weapon that will give at least 20 attack and then use Sidon’s sage ability to double your attack and deal a lot of damage to Molduga until it can’t move.

How to Avoid Attacks

To avoid attacks, you can sometimes cling to cliffs so that Molduga can’t reach you. If it comes straight at you, run away from it as it will be difficult to hit you while you are in motion. It will be useful for you to take something for a movement speed buff.

Rewards You Get After Beating Molduga

You can get a variety of valuable loot, such as elixirs, weapons, armor, shields, and various ingredients. Also, when you return to Lookout Landing, the captain will give you a silver rupee.

That was all the information you might need to defeat Molduga in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. We hope our guide helped you, and you will get a lot of loot from this boss.

The Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
