During Maui’s Friendship Quest “Burying the Eels” in Disney Dreamlight Valley, adventurers are tasked with creating a Fishing Trap, which requires Softwood and Worms. Softwood can be found throughout the Valley and appears as small piles of sticks on the ground. Not to be confused with russet-colored Hardwood, Softwood has a soft shade of light brown. Players should have no trouble procuring this resource since it is so common. On the other hand, Worms can be a bit more challenging to find, as the method of obtaining them in Disney Dreamlight Valley might not be very well explained to some players.Â
Finding Worms In Disney Dreamlight Valley
To find Worms in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players must search around the ponds within Peaceful Meadow. Near the rim of these small reservoirs, adventurers will notice bulging fissures in the ground. These nodes are characterized by a patch of dirt with several cracks on the surface, slightly protruding from the earth.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: Where to Get Shrimps
Thanks to a demonstration by YouTube content creator Game Guides Channel, Disney Dreamlight Valley fans can see that using the Shovel on these dirt mounds near the ponds of the Meadow will yield Worms. Of course, Worms are not the only resource that comes from these nodes. Sometimes, players will receive Coal or other items that commonly generate in the soil. Therefore, patience is key when finding Worms in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Suppose a fan has dug up all the dirt nodes in Peaceful Meadow but has yet to find enough Worms to complete the Friendship Quest. In that case, it is recommended that this individual use the Shovel on the areas where they unearthed the soil. This action will cause the ground in that specific spot to return to its normal state. Of course, this process is not necessary to get the nodes to respawn, but it can help quicken the refresh process.
After collecting all resources for the Fishing Trap, players must head to the crafting bench and create the item. The Fishing Trap for Eels can be found within the Furniture Menu. After making the quest item, adventurers must head to the dock on Dazzle Beach to set the trap. The pier is located right beside Goofy’s stall in the biome. Oddly enough, the Fishing Trap itself does not capture the Eel itself. Instead, it serves as a “proximity spawner” of sorts that enables players to catch Eels with their Fishing Rod.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
