The mighty fire dragon Dinraal is a peaceful creature in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. When you get close, its heat can harm you, but this is actually a great source of materials for making powerful weapons. For example, you will want to choose Dinraal’s items over a Fire Breath Lizalfo. Here is how to get a Shard of Dinraal’s Spike in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
Where To Get Shard of Dinraal’s Spike in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Like the other dragons in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Dinraal is a creature that flies through the air in a specific portion of the map. They can be found around Death Mountain in the Eldin Mountains and Deep Akkala regions in northeast Hyrule. They also will occasionally fly down into the Depths below this area, so if you don’t see them there, they are probably underground. If this is the case, we recommend camping out by the East Akkala Plains Chasm for when they reemerge.
Before you go to jump on Dinraal, make sure you have fire protection armor from Goron City. The heat that the dragon gives off is too much for Link not to take damage from. Additionally, be sure to unequip any wooden weapons, or they will burn up and be destroyed.
When you find Dinraal, either glide to him from a sky island or use the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower or Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower to launch yourself into the air and reach it. To get the Shard of Dinraal’s Spike, you just need to run up and down the dragon’s back and pick up the items sitting at the base of its spikes. Not all of the spikes will have them, but you don’t need to hit anything for them to appear like the other dragon items.
How To Get the Ember Trousers in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
After you have gathered some of Dinraal’s Spike Shards, you can fuse them with weapons to give them flame attacks. They also add 16 attack power, so these are great to use against fire-prone enemies. We recommend putting them on melee weapons to get the most bang for your buck. Additionally, if you plan on fully upgrading your Ember Trousers, you must spend some of these to the Great Fairy to get them to level three. That is all you need to know about how to get a Shard of Dinraal’s Spike in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
