They come in different styles, colors, and textures. So getting armor trims is a great way to add a bit of flair and customization to your character. This guide will tell you how to get armor trims in Minecraft.

What are Armor Trims in Minecraft?

Armor Trims were introduced to the game with the 1.20 update. Also, you can Customize your Armor with Armor Trims. You can get ten colors to your Armor using Armor Trims such as Iron ingots, Redstone dust, Gold ingots, diamonds, and Emeralds. Also, according to the detail in the update, “They come in 11 different patterns that you can dye in 10 different colors.”

You need three ingredients to craft the Armor trims, particularly Smithing Template, Armor, and Specific Ore or mineral that gives the color. Also, the tricky part is acquiring Smithing Templates since they are scattered around the map. Different Smithing Templates give different colors. Also, the Smithing Templates can be found in the following locations.

  • Nephrite Armor Trim – Bastion Remnant and inside the treasure room of Bastion Remnant
  • Eye Armor Trim – Stronghold
  • Rib Armor Trim – Nether Fortress
  • Ward Armor Trim- Ancient City
  • Wild Armor Trim – Jungle Temple
  • Dune Armor Trim – Desert Pyramid
  • Sentry Armor Trim – Pillager Outpost
  • Coast Armor Trim – Shipwreck
  • Tide Armor Trim – Ocean Monument
  • Vex Armor Trim – Woodland Mansion
  • Snout Armor Trim – Bastion Remnant
  • Spire Armor Trim – End City

How to Get Armor Trims in Minecraft

You can get Armor Trims in Minecraft by crafting at a crafting table with a specific Smithing Template and Ore or mineral that gives them the color. For example, you need to have Sentry Armor Trim, the Armor you like to craft, and specific Ore or mineral to craft the Sentry Armor. Also, here are the steps you need to follow.

  1. Gather the required materials and Smithing Template.
  2. Choose the Gear you want to upgrade and add the Smithing Template to the first Slot; put the Armor into the second Slot and the Specific  Ore or mineral to the third Slot. Once you have done the Trim gets added to the Slot on the Right side, and you will also see a preview of the upgrade.
  3. Click on the Right side slot on the Trim, and the Trim will get attached to the Gear. And you are Done!

Now that you know how to craft Armor Trims in Minecraft, you can customize your Armor to match your style. So go ahead and get creative with your character’s look!
