If Warriors of Light are looking to unlock Minions like the Sand Fox or Mounts like the Construct VI-S, players must procure a Final Fantasy XIV currency known as Faux Leaves. As its name suggests, Faux Leaves are acquired from the well-known minigame activity called Faux Hollows, managed by an NPC named the Faux Commander. For those unfamiliar, this activity functions similarly to Khloe Aliapoh’s Wondrous Tails, a weekly bingo-esque minigame that requires players to clear content from older patches. Likewise, Faux Hollows tasks participants with clearing the extremely challenging Unreal Trials, which are past Extreme Trials scaled to the current level cap.
Earning Faux Leaves in Final Fantasy XIV
Accordingly, Final Fantasy XIV players must complete the featured Unreal Trial of the current patch to participate in the Faux Hollows minigame and earn Faux Leaves. However, this minigame-based currency is not handed out freely. Similar to Wondrous Tails, players must interact with a board where they must guess where certain pictures are drawn to receive a reward.

As shown via footage by YouTuber SamsonGrey26, players are given a limited number of turns to reveal panels on the Faux Hollows minigame board. There are four pictures: the Dual Blades with six panels, the four-panel Gift Box and Coffer, and the single-panel Commander. As one would expect, the Commander is the most tricky to find but also the most rewarding, as discovering its location will grant players 100 Faux Leaves. Finding the Coffer grants 35 Faux Leaves, while the Gift Box offers 25. Finally, the Dual Blades is the easiest to find and provides 15 Faux Leaves and a Retelling, which enables players to play the minigame a second time before the weekly reset in FFXIV.
It should be noted that Faux Hollows, its minigame, and Faux Leaves rewards only becomes available after FFXIV fans complete the MSQ of the Shadowbringers expansion. Players must also fulfill the quest “Keeping Up with the Aliapohs” that unlocks Wondrous Tails if they have not already. Once these two prerequisites have been completed, “Fantastic Mr. Faux” will become accessible via the Painfully Ishgardian Man in Idyllshire at X:6.9, Y: 5.9, which grants access to Faux Hollows.
Final Fantasy XIVÂ is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
