Pokemon Go is currently hosting its Shadow Mewtwo event, which includes many research tasks and raids for trainers to complete. Another feature of this event trainers are participating in is collecting and using Purified Gems to assist them in raid battles. With this being a popular event and many Pokemon Go players being involved worldwide, The Pokemon Company released a tweet giving out free purified stones. This guide will teach players how to get free purified stones in Pokemon Go. Here’s how to get free purified gems.
How To Get Free Purified Stones in Mewtwo Event

Purified Gems are used to help players in raid battles with bosses; using one will weaken the boss. Trainers can use four of their Shadow Shards to get a Purified Gem. Each player can only hold 10 Purified Gems at a time and use up to five in a single battle. When in a raid battle, trainers will want to use a Purified Gem to take a Pokemon out of their enraged state. This can be seen by their health bar at the top of the screen. Once a gem is used, the boss Pokemon will no longer be enraged; other players in the raid can also stack up their gems as well which is a cool feature.
While players normally have to collect Shadow Shards to then combine into a Purified Gem, for a limited time, they are being given away for free. A tweet posted by the Pokemon Go official Twitter account shares that players can get free Purified Gems.
WOW! Over 150,000 Trainers have shown they’re ready to take on Team GO Rocket and save Shadow Pokémon! Stay tuned!
Trainers who retweeted the rallying tweet will receive an additional reply with a code for in-game items. #ShadowRaids https://t.co/6MiNIqQDY4
