There are many resources in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom that add to Link’s overall power. Skyshrooms are an essential consumable item in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom that helps Link stay alive. Players will want to have these in their inventory as early into the game as possible so they can restore Link’s hearts. Although this is not the best solution — and you will find later why — it can provide help in critical situations. This guide will show you how to get Skyshrooms in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

You can get Skyshrooms in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom only on a Sky Island, thus the name Skyshrooms. Skyshrooms grow at the base of trees on Sky Islands.

If you have trouble getting to a Sky Island, you can simply use the Recall ability on the falling rocks from the sky and get up enough to jump to the floating island.

Now, once you spot a Skyshroom in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, press A to pick it up and place it in your inventory. If you want to consume Skyshroom, open the menu and find the Materials tab. When you get to the Skyshroom, you should press A and then choose Eat. Link will heal, but a Skyshroom will only give back one-quarter of a heart. As we said, it is not the best healing solution. However, there are so many Skyshrooms in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, and pretty early in the game. You should collect as many as you need on the Sky Islands.

Now, eating raw Skyshroom will get you only a quarter of a heart, but there is a way around it. You can start a fire and roast your Skyshroom for a bit more healing power. Moreover, Skyshrooms can be used in a number of food recipes, including:

  • Copious Mushroom Skewers
  • Fish and Mushroom Skewer
  • Meat and Mushroom Skewer
  • Fruit and Mushroom Mix
  • Glazed Mushrooms
  • Mushroom Omelet
  • Tomato Mushroom Stew

There are several other recipes that include Skyshrooms in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and restore Link’s health, which makes it a very useful resource. Although Skyshrooms grow only on Sky Island, they come in plenty in areas next to a large tree. You will be able to pick a number of Skyshrooms under every large tree in Sky Island. You will be introduced to Skyshrooms in Great Sky Island tutorial, but you can always return for more Skyshrooms.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
