For the Hatching-tide of 2023, FFXIV is featuring Special Midnight Archon Eggs as the exclusive currency of the event. Once you’ve collected enough of these Eggs, you can take them to the Dreamer Egg Advocate, an NPC vendor found at the Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre in Old Gridania. They sell several season items, including the Tonberry Glamour outfit set. Keep in mind that the clothing pieces are all sold separately, so you will need to gather enough Special Midnight Archon Eggs in FFXIV for each part.
Farming Special Midnight Archon Eggs in FFXIV
Like other event currencies in FFXIV, Special Midnight Archon Eggs cannot be bought or sold on the Market Board but can only be earned via the featured activity of the Hatching-tide FATE, “Chaos, Carnage, Eggs.” This FATE becomes available after you’ve completed “Get Along and Play Knife” with Jihli Aliapoh in Old Gridania at (X:10.3, Y:9.5).
You can find “Chaos, Carnage, Eggs” southeast of the Bentbranch Meadows Aetheryte Crystal, slightly north of the exit to South Shroud. Regardless of the server you are on, many other players will likely be standing around at this location, awaiting for the FATE to begin. After the chaos that ensues with the activity, be sure to collect enough eggs to receive the maximum participation reward of Special Midnight Archon Eggs in FFXIV. You might need to repeat this FATE multiple times to unlock all the event rewards for Hatching-tide 2023. As noted above, you must take these eggs to the Dreamer Egg Advocate NPC in Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre. They will sell all five pieces of the Tonberry Glamour set for two Special Midnight Archon Eggs each.
Other rewards you can get include the Pa-Paya Demastered Orchestrion Roll, Hippity-hoppity Hatching-tide Advertisement Poster, and the Magicked Prism (Hatching-tide). Remember that the Magicked Prisms are event-exclusive consumables, so get as many as you can if you want to use them continuously throughout the rest of the year. Other than these items, there is no reason to continue collecting Special Midnight Archon Eggs after you’ve unlocked the Tonberry Glamour outfit.
