Fortunately, you only need to travel to Gerudo Town of the Gerudo Desert to get the Opal Earrings in TotK. Link can reach the town quickly from the teleportation tower in the region. Afterward, players can glide to the plaza of the desert town. If you have not yet unlocked the tower, we recommend our guide to complete Soryotanog Shrine. This step will ease the way to the other side of Hyrule, where the desert is.

These earrings are sold at Gerudo jewelry shops and is not part of any other armor set in Hyrule. To buy these Opal Earrings in Tears of Kingdom, you must go to the town and enter Starlight Memories Jewelry Rupees. Here, this piece of headgear will only cost 700 Rupees.

The in-game description states that this jewelry’s opal is a “gem that harnesses the power of water to increase your swimming speed.” Accordingly, equipping the item will enable Link to receive a swim speed-up bonus, which is very useful because there are many swimming areas on the map.

In Tears of the Kingdom, it is common to swim across rivers, lakes, and other obstacles that will make the journey difficult. This goes especially for players who don’t have much stamina yet. But even if Link has higher stamina, the bonus will always be helpful during your exploration.

So keep these Opal Earrings handy when swimming. Also, the Topaz Earrings are a good choice when facing enemies with electricity in Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom.
