When expanding your arsenal in Elden Ring, the weapon class that you probably aren’t paying too much attention to is the torches. While it makes sense that you might not need to be up to date on which flaming sticks you have in your inventory, there is a torch that is actually very useful in certain situations as it will allow you to see Black Knives Assassins that are invisible. That torch is the Sentry’s Torch, and it is relatively easy to acquire. This guide will explain how to get the Sentry’s Torch in Elden Ring.
How To Get The Sentry’s Torch In Elden Ring
The Sentry’s Torch is not an item that you will find or get as a reward for falling a powerful enemy; it is simply something that you will have to buy from one of the many merchants across the Lands Between. The specific merchant in question is the Hermit Merchant residing at the appropriately named Hermit Merchant’s Shack. This area is in the north of Capital Outskirts near the wall dividing Altus Plateau and the Outskirts. You can see its exact location pictured below.

Once you reach the location, all you need to do is talk to the Hermit Merchant and select the Sentry’s Torch. Be aware that if you are at this location at night, there will be a Bell-Bearing Hunter in the Shack instead of the merchant. Make to come here while the sun is still up. The Sentry’s Torch will cost you 7000 Runes. Despite being a torch, it still requires some stats to wield. Players that want to use the Sentry’s Torch will need level 15 Strength, level 8 Dexterity, and level 15 Faith.
Elden Ring is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
