Need for Speed: Unbound features the new mechanic Yellow NOS to give you an edge. Nitrous Oxide System, otherwise referred to as NOS, is well-known by players of racing games. You want to build up your NOS to get that burst of speed, propelling you past the other racers with ease. In Unbound, they change things up a bit. Our guide will give you all the information you need about Yellow NOS.
What is Yellow NOS in Need for Speed: Unbound?
In Need for Speed: Unbound, you’re used to your blue NOS reserve. It builds up over time, so you can use it when you most need it. Yellow NOS has a similar function, albeit with some differences. You’ll see it build up under the blue NOS. Although they are both NOS, the Yellow NOS doesn’t naturally accumulate. When you do get it, it can go away. This starkly contrasts with the blue NOS that stays in your reserves until you use it.
The Yellow NOS in Need for Speed: Unbound gives your car a stronger initial effect compared to the blue NOS. So, once you do accumulate enough to use, the Yellow NOS is great to get you out of a sticky situation. Maybe first place eludes you in a race, and you only need a few extra seconds over your opponent? The Yellow NOS can help.
How to Get Yellow NOS in Need for Speed: Unbound
You can’t just ride around normally and build up Yellow NOS. If you want to fill up those yellow bars, you’ll have to do one or more of the following:
