With the start of a new week also comes a brand-new set of challenges for Season 1 of Fortnite Chapter 3. This kicks off Week 5 of the season and sees the fourth challenge of the week tasking players with knocking down a total of five Timber Pines across the Battle Royale Island. This challenge isn’t too difficult, though some players might need to be told where to find this certain type of tree. This guide will show players how to knock down Timber Pines in Fortnite.
How to Knock Down Timber Pines in Fortnite
The first step in completing this challenge is to complete the previous challenges in the Week 5 lineup. These challenges will see players tasked with building 3 structures at Creamy Crossroads, Sleepy Sound, and Condo Canyon, claiming an abandoned tent, and driving a vehicle through water. Once those challenges are complete, you can start your hunt for these special trees. Timber Pines are a type of tree that can mostly be found in snow-covered areas, with the best place to find them being in the northwest part of the map. This is where you will find Logjam Lumberyard, and as the name suggests, you will find a number of these trees that are primed to be knocked down in the surrounding area. The Timber Pines are defined as having long, light brown trunks with bushy leaves at the top. Think of it as a Christmas tree with a long trunk. Using your melee weapon of choice to cut down the tree will lead to the tree falling over, hence the “timber” part of the name, and will spawn a giant log that can be both rolled and used to float in water. Do this to five different Timber Pines, and you will complete the challenge.
Once you’ve knocked down the five Timber Pines, the challenge will be completed. Upon completing the challenge, players will be rewarded with 25,000 XP for their Battle Pass. With the Timber Pines knocked down, you can move on to the next challenge of Week 5 of Fortnite Chapter 3: Gain 100 shields using a Shield Sprinkler.
Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 1 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
