Want to know how to make and use a Teleporter in Terraria? Without a doubt, Terraria does not have a large game world, and if you wish, you can get to most locations relatively quickly. But no one will argue that moving to the right place is free and 1 second is much more pleasant, and in this case, Teleporter is what you need. Previously, you could buy this item from the Steampunker that spawned if you prepared a room and after you defeated at least one mechanical boss. But now this item has moved to the Mechanic inventory, although you can still make and use a Teleporter in Terraria only in the Hard Mode.
How to Make a Teleporter in Terraria
To make a Teleporter in Terraria, you will need a few materials besides the Teleporter itself. Luckily, you can buy it all from a single Mechanic NPC, so let’s start by finding her. To find the Mechanic, you’ll have to explore the dungeons at or below the cave level after you defeat the Skeletron boss. But since she spawns randomly, finding her is not easy. For a more convenient and fast search, you can use the Lifeform Analyzer.
It is worth noting that Mechanic spawns in any version of the game, but you can buy a Teleporter only in Hard Mode. Once you’ve found this NPC, here’s what you need to purchase to make a Teleporter in Terraria:
- Teleporter 2x: 2 Gold and 50 Silver Coin.
- Switch or Pressure Plate 2x: 20 or 50 Silver Coin.
- Wire Cutter 1x: 2 Gold Coin.
- Wire (100+): 5 Silver Coins
- Wrench 1x (any color): 2 Gold coins.
Next, you must place two Teleporters in two locations and stretch a Wire between these (the longer the distance more wire you will need). Place a Switch or Pressure Plate on each Teleporter. After that, press the activators on both Teleporters to launch these.

How to Use Teleporter in Terraria
Once you have completed all the steps above, you can use the Teleporter in Terraria. If you install the Pressure Plate, stand on it, and you will move to the opposite Teleporter in a second. And if you install Switch, stand on the platform and press Switch to teleport. It is worth noting that teleportation is free, and you do not have to spend money, manna, or anything else.
This design is the simplest in terms of game mechanics. Later you can improve it with Actuator, Timer, and other mechanisms. Eventually, you can build more Teleporters and use these, for example, to move NPCs to your base.
Terraria is available on Windows, PlayStation, iOS, Android, Xbox, and Google Stadia.
