Want to know how to repair your gear in Diablo 4? Thanks to the variety of weaponry and armor in Diablo 4, many powerful and substantial items will surround your inventory. However, no matter how high-quality your gear is, its durability will suffer at some point. When your gear degrades, you need to repair your items to restore them to their former power. Repairing gear in Diablo 4 is actually done right before your eyes.
Repairing Gear in Diablo 4 Explained

To repair your gear in Diablo 4, you’ll simply need to visit a blacksmith in town. You can find blacksmiths in many Sanctuary towns or villages. They are mainly located around waypoints you use for fast traveling. Blacksmiths are identifiable on your map and have an anvil icon that you can easily recognize in Diablo 4. After interacting with a Blacksmith NPC, you’ll see these three options:
- Directly in Inventory: This option allows you to repair an item by selecting it manually. Click on the hammer icon and select the gear you want to repair.
- Equipped: This option allows you to repair all the gear you are currently using. It is the best method to repair all the repairable items on you quickly.
- All items: This option allows you to repair all the items you have in your inventory and have equipped at that moment. Therefore, the total cost will be higher.
What Happens If You Don’t Repair Your Gear?
Your Diablo 4 gear gradually loses its durability and becomes ineffective with use. Also, the more you die, the more your gear’s durability will degrade. If the color of an item you use has turned red, that item no longer provides any effect. When an item loses its effects, its stats are disabled, and it will not give your character any buffs.
You can have difficulty in raids or dungeons unless your gear is top-tier quality and fully repaired. Even if a single item you use is broken, it can cause you to fall back in a rugged boss fight. That’s why you should completely repair your gear every time you visit the town for a few seconds. If you do not have gold to spare for repair at the beginning of the game, you may prefer to use some other items.
