If you’ve played other Pokemon games in the past, you might know that most features are locked behind the main story. This is something that didn’t change this time around. While there are some features you can unlock right away, like Tera Raids and TM Crafting, you need to advance the story for the others. Thankfully, the process is easy for those looking to ride Koraidon and Miraidon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. All you need to do is follow the main story. Unlocking the riding feature takes around 2-3 hours, depending on how distracted you get with capturing Pokemon. How to Trade in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

It takes time to unlock the riding features in the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games, but it isn’t hard. This is how you’ll do it:

Go to the city of Los Platos. There Nemona will tell you how to get to the Academy.
Head to the Academy in the city of Mesagoza.
Visit the three locations inside the Academy to unlock the three-story paths.
Once you learn about the Treasure Hunt and finish the cinematic, you’ll get a conversation with Arven and Nemona.
In that conversation, your version-specific legendary Pokemon will appear, letting you ride it.

Riding is simple, just mount by pressing the “+” button and jump by pressing “B.” This is the point where the region really opens up. From there, you can go anywhere you want, however, be wary of the levels of wild Pokemon. You might want to follow the recommended route to stay safe.
