Unlike the first Overwatch game, the anticipated sequel Overwatch 2 is launched as a free-to-play title. As you can expect, the change to the business model means there are changes to how unlocking Heroes or characters in the new game as well. Simply put, you will need to grind quite a bit of matches in order to play as most characters that you all know and love through the Hero Challenge system. Thankfully, D.Va is one of the earlier Heroes that you can unlock in Overwatch 2.
Overwatch 2 – How You Can Unlock D.Va
Unlocking D.Va is pretty easy, all you need to do is complete 2 Unranked matchmaking matches. While unlocking Heroes or characters will not work through playing Custom Games or Practice matches, there is a “double progress” win system; winning an Unranked match will count as a double Hero Challenge progress. So if you can win often, you might spend less time grinding matches to unlock this Tank and other Heroes as well.
As mentioned above, D.Va is one of the earlier Heroes you can unlock in Overwatch 2 with only two matches. To be able to play as all the Heroes from the previous title, you will need to grind 150 Unranked games. Nevertheless, new characters seem to be locked behind different methods: for example, Junker Queen and Sojourn are unlocked if you log in anytime during Season 1, meanwhile buying the Battle Pass will unlock Kiriko.
