As its name suggests, the turret-esque Heavy Stubber is a heavyweight light machine gun in Warhammer 40K: Darktide that only the bulky Ogryn can wield in combat. This weapon is built to push back the horde, offering substantially high damage and superior Collateral, a stat that determines weapon suppression and staggering capabilities. The Heavy Stubber suits the Ogryn perfectly as a support tank-like role, as its heavy rounds can both mow down Poxwalkers and knock back well-armored enemies. While it suffers from disadvantages like heavy recoil and a wide bullet spread, players can buy this weapon with randomized stats they prefer or add an extra Perk via Consecration.Â
Unlocking the Ogryn’s Heavy Stubber in Darktide
To unlock Ogryn’s Heavy Stubber in Warhammer 40K: Darktide, players must increase the Trust Rank of their Ogryn to Level 9, after which the Heavy Stubber will become available for purchase at the Armoury Exchange. Like any weapon, the price will progressively increase as players advance in their Trust Ranks.

How to Defeat the Daemonhost in Warhammer 40K: Darktide
According to research by Pro Game Guides, the Krourk MK V Twin-Linked Heavy Stubber is currently the only Heavy Stubber weapon available in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. However, more LMGs for the Ogryn will likely be added in future updates, along with the introduction of new classes for this character. Since the point of Darktide is to slay the Heretics, there is no “wrong way” of using the Heavy Stubber. After all, killing enemies, surviving in the Hive City, and completing mission objectives are what Rejects specialize in. However, knowing when to spend limited ammo for the Heavy Stubber is an important tactic, especially on higher difficulties.Â
Even though the Heavy Stubber in Darktide carries a good stock of ammunition, spending it to shoot at every Poxwalker might not be the use for this weapon. Instead, players are encouraged to use Ogryn’s LMG as a means of crowd control on tougher targets, such as using its heavy rounds to knock back armored enemies. Moreover, if an ally is pinned down by the horde, the Heavy Stubber can be used to quickly kill threats from a distance. This can come in handy whenever an Ogryn player’s charge ability is on cooldown.
