This Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom final pre-launch trailer marks the third time in recent history that the newest game in the series is showcased. In previous displays, we’ve seen the overworld, how we will interact with it, and the subtle differences between the last crafting system and the next. Our environment is bigger this time around, and our ability to interact and create from it is even more diverse. However, there is one element players have noticed a bit absent from new content: characters.
The question no doubt on fans’ minds at this point is not what we’ll be doing in the game. That much is clear. The gameplay, despite it being a new Legend of Zelda game, will be quite similar to Breath of the Wild. What players are no doubt asking is, what are the elements that will be different this time around? Will it be the story? The characters? Maybe the environmental challenges we will face? With the different environments, will there be different ways to navigate? All these questions and more are piled up and ready to go for both this final trailer and the release date that approaches faster than we think.
