Hunt: Showdown is something of a sleeper hit among many. While most who enjoy this style of play will lean towards the ever-popular Escape from Tarkov, the title is a stark contrast from its competitor with a much more different style of play, various quality-of-life features, and tense moment-to-moment battles. Having delved into it only recently, I’ve immediately fallen in love with the care and attention to detail. The choice between skill-based matchmaking and random players is a particular feature of note. Joining that though, the team is ready to unveil the next map for players to venture. Hunt: Showdown has officially unveiled DeSalle, the game’s third map, through an official trailer today! You can test out the map over on the game’s test servers on PC.
Fatih Özbayram, Senior Producer for Hunt: Showdown, had this to say regarding DeSalle:
We are delighted to launch DeSalle, a map which will bring a really new feel to the bayou. DeSalle is designed to bring more verticality to the game with climbable areas where players can take the high ground. The new map presents a wide range of new gameplay possibilities and more approaches for players to take towards their target, whether roaming town streets, stalking through a shipyard, or exploring the depths of a quarry.”
The team will be looking for feedback regarding what needs tweaking in the weeks ahead. All of this is looking towards an eventual release on platforms outside of PC, and a release to the live servers on PC this Summer. So for those like myself who choose a mouse and keyboard over anything else, be sure to hop into the test server and see what’s new. Once you do, head to the comments below and let me know what you think of this new map for Hunt: Showdown!
Hunt: Showdown is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
