Disney Plus is about to release I Am Groot, and reactions are overwhelmingly positive. As we get the third Guardians of the Galaxy project ahead of the upcoming Holiday Special and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the series of shorts will see some fun adventures when Groot (Vin Diesel) was stilly Baby Groot. Critics so far have seemed to be high on the show for its humor, family-friendly tone, cuteness, and the core of the Guardians with just Groot and Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper).
The Reactions to I Am Groot praise Disney Plus series
Of the I Am Groot reactions, Comicbook’s Jenna Anderson said the series “could not be more charming if it tried” and “captures the weird humor of the Guardians movies.” In reply to a questioning follower, she said the whole five-episode season is 20 minutes long.
Twitter user PattyCakeToast, like Anderson, singled out the fourth episode as a highlight. The user’s thoughts were summed up by promising that “your whole family will love this series.”
Some reactions to I Am Groot praised its animation. Discussing Film’s, Jacob Fisher mentioned the combination of “photo-realistic” and “fun, wacky ideas” come together for an enjoyable series of shorts. If you have kids, the critic said that they will “love rewatching these constantly.”
While family-friendly, one of the I Am Groot reactions from Alex Zalben from Decider goes into how dark it can be while still being fun for the whole family. Zalben also said it “often feels like lost bits from the Guardians movies.”
Following up on its tone and cleverness is Steven Prusakowski of ScreenRadar. He went into how the show “quickly grows on you.” He did jokingly make a suggestion that “it should be retitled ‘I Am Cute.'”
One of the reactions to I Am Groot went on for some hard stances, like with Richard Nebens of The Direct as he called it “the most adorable project in the MCU.” For his experience, he said that it “had me smiling the entire way through.”
MCU Direct’s Matt Roembke asked the important question, “who doesn’t love Baby Groot?” The critic went out to even call out Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian by saying, “people forget that Baby Groot walked to Baby Yoda could run.”
I Am Groot releases all five episodes on Disney Plus on August 10.
