Illinois City Hall Bans Secretary Kristi Noem from Using Bathroom: ‘Big Ups to Illinois!’

Oh No! Anyways…

In any long-term fight, even the small wins matter, and numerous people are cheering on Illinois for turning down a controversial figure, Kristi Noem. The Secretary of Homeland Security claims she and her minions were on their way to hunt down some convicted criminals. They decided to stop by the Village of Broadview Municipal Building for a quick bathroom break, but were met with an unpleasant surprise. The city hall workers refused to let them in, even denying them access to the entrance.

Shocked, Secretary Noem called out the Illinois city hall’s refusal to let her use its public restroom as “prosecution” when all she claims to be doing is protecting Americans. Naturally, everyone has varying opinions on that statement, but many online users found it both brave and hilarious to stand up against the Secretary of Homeland Security. ICE has been prosecuting both immigrants and protestors across the country, so a bathroom denial for a controversial government official isn’t that bad, one would think.

“Big ups to Illinois!” cheered a Redditor, with thousands upvoting in agreement. “They’ve been terrorizing our communities for the last month, pulling parents away right in front of their children and they ransacked an entire apartment building overnight this week. Kristi can go piss somewhere else!” exclaimed another. A third pointed out how standing up against Noem is one thing, but it’s important to realize that there are many businesses and organizations that back her and the Trump administration financially. Boycotting their products and services would be a great way to protest, similar to how Jimmy Kimmel was put back on his show after his suspension.

As for the Homeland Security Secretary, she was so offended by this insignificant rejection in Illinois that she took to Twitter/X to denounce the Governor of Illinois and the Village of Broadview Municipal Building staff for not letting her use the toilet. “This is how JB Pritzker and his cronies treat our law enforcement. Absolutely shameful,” she wrote, resentfully. While some comments were supportive of her show of anger, others found her behavior irrational.

My team and I were just blocked from accessing the Village of Broadview Municipal Building in Illinois. We were stopping for a quick bathroom break. This is a public building. The Village of Broadview receives at least $1 million in federal funding every year.

One person said she passed by a QuikTrip, where she could have easily used the bathroom. “Do you expect that you will mistreat people repeatedly and brag about it and there won’t be consequences?” questioned another. Others added that it was very questionable for her to go to the city hall for just a “bathroom break” while dragging along a camera crew and a team of henchmen. Whatever the case, many believe the Illinois city hall’s refusal was more than deserved, given all she and her department have done.
