Independent games publisher Versus Evil together with PikPok just announced that its apocalyptic zombie shooter Into The Dead 2 is now available on Nintendo Switch.
Together with the game release, the company also revealed the Ghostbusters and Night of The Living Dead missions, which players will be able to buy separately on the Nintendo eShop or in the bundled version of the game for the bundle version priced $39.99 (£35.99).
Understandably, the game will come with HD Rumble, Joy-Con controller, and Pro Controller support for a true Nintendo Switch experience.
In case you are not familiar with the franchise, Into the Dead is a zombie apocalypse shooter where players have to journey through hordes of the undead, always moving forward, and surviving as long as possible with the aid of weapons and animal companions.
The game was originally launched back in 2017 on iOS and Android as a free-to-play title, and soon become one of the go-to zombie games on mobile. In fact, it became so famous that Versus Evil even released a version for the Oculus, if you want to sprint through hordes of zombies in VR. Spoiler alert: it’s not the best virtual reality zombie experience you can get.
The second chapter of the franchise, Into the Dead 2, features over 60 story-driven levels, 36 additional side story missions and 3 different endings.
The available arsenal will consist of 25 unique weapons across 8 different classes, and the animal companions will range from lovely dogs to ferocious tigers. Them too can be leveled-up and come with unique abilities.
“The Into the Dead franchise has already amassed over 100 million downloads across mobile,” said Steve Escalante, General Manager of Versus Evil. “Coupled with some exciting licensed content with Ghostbusters and Night of the Living Dead missions, Nintendo Switch players can finally get in on the action.”
