An upcoming Judgement Day tie-in is pinning Iron Man against his worst enemy: his own armor. As the war between the X-Men and the Eternals heats up, Tony Stark finds himself in a battle like nothing he’s faced before. According to CBR, A.X.E.: Avengers #1 brings Iron Man face-to-face with the multitude of armors he has crafted over the years on Judgement Day. Can Tony overcome his own creations?
How Did We Get Here?
This intense battle comes as a result of the current Judgement Day event. As part of the Avengers, Iron Man is caught in the middle of the intense battle between the Eternals and the X-Men. However, the Avenger’s efforts to limit the destruction of the war have led to some not-so-great outcomes, including this upcoming suit vs. suit battle.
Throughout the Judgement Day event, the Eternal Druig has seized the power of the Prime Eternal from Thanos. He uses his newly found power to try and rid the planet of mutants. After assaulting the planet in his attempts, the Avengers intervened to try and protect the innocent denizens of Earth. The latest attempt saw Tony wake up the Celestial that serves as the Avenger’s secret base. However, that backfired, giving humanity only 24 hours to prove themselves worthy or become extinct.
So, Why Is Iron Man Taking On His Own Suits?
The upcoming A.X.E.: Avengers #1Â from Kieron Gillen and Frederico Vicentini is the first of three one-shots. Each focuses on a single member amid the war.
