Iron Wolf Studio has officially announced their upcoming Wolfenstein/Duke Nukem shooter galore Nazi Busters for Steam. With an announcement trailer showcasing the primary elements of the game, players can expect to see a demo this year.
A Thousand Nazi Scalps and Iron Wolf Studio Wants Them All!
Nazi Busters is a retro shooter title that serves as an alternate version for the Nazi involvement during World War II. You play as an Allied soldier who takes the fight to the frontlines. Armed to the teeth with guns and flamethrowers, the hero will casually spit one-liners while killing his enemies – a well-known feature from the Duke Nukem days.
The game is stylized in 1990s classic pixel art, with modern physics mechanics to imitate more realistic results. In spirit with the Wolfenstein titles, Nazi Busters will feature experimental Nazi weaponry, dubbed in this game as the “Wunderwaffle”. There’s also a noticeable detour from standard Nazi propaganda in the game as well. In other words, you won’t see the horrendous swastika or Iron Cross symbols in Nazi Busters; instead, there will be common shapes with red and black to replace the usual scenery.
To see more of the gameplay, the announcement trailer for Nazi Busters was released today to reveal the game’s wishlist availability on Steam. You’ll get to see many moments of ultraviolence being caked with hilarious insults and rocking music.
Independent gaming company Iron Wolf Studio seems to be hard at work with two different WWII titles. They’re currently working on Destroyer: The U-Boat Hunter, which is set for a 2022 release during the first quarter. Nazi Busters is slated for Q3 release of the same year, but no further official information has been disclosed yet. You can wishlist both games right now on Steam.
