Bad news for fans of the Amazon Prime political action series Jack Ryan. It will end with Season 4. The good news is there is a potential spinoff series with Michael Peña as the lead. Peña would play Domingo “Ding” Chavez, another of Tom Clancy’s characters in the Jack Ryan literary universe. Michael Peña will be introduced in the latter part of Season 3 and will become a regular series in Season 4. Of course, the Amazon Prime political action series Jack Ryan hasn’t had a Season 3 yet. It doesn’t even have a premiere date for the upcoming season. John Krasinski, who plays the titular role, signed on to Jack Ryan until Season 4. Krasinski executive produces the series and has played a showrunner of sorts for the last season. Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine have all played Jack Ryan in past films.
Michael Peña Will (Possibly) Get the Lead Role He Deserves
Michael Peña has played many memorable supporting roles throughout his career. He became a fan favorite for his role as the loveable and unlucky ex-felon Luis in the Ant-Man movies. Now Peña will possibly play a lead in his own Amazon Prime political action series. Peña has an impressive list of film credits, including Shooter, World Trade Center, and The Martian. He also had roles in the series Narcos: Mexico. He did have the lead role in the film Cesar Chavez, but the film went wholely unnoticed. Now with the Amazon Prime political action series Jack Ryan, Michael Peña has another chance. He will be in Season 3 and Season 4. Amazon Studios, Paramount TV Studios, and Skydance TV produce the Amazon series but haven’t released further details.
Peña may be making his intro at the end of Season 3, but he will become a big part of Season 4 of Jack Ryan. You can catch up on Season 1 and Season 2 of the political action series on Amazon Prime.
