Succession is over, so people are praising it and celebrating like James Gunn talking about it with the recreation of a scene from season 3. In a tweet, the Guardians of the Galaxy director shared an image with Alexander Skarsgård and Kieran Culkin’s characters from season 3 and himself with his brother and collaborator Sean Gunn (seen below).
After four seasons, we have seen the winner of the long battle to become the king or queen of Waystar, the fictional corporation in the HBO series. The jaw-dropping finale has stirred mixed reactions from fans and praise from critics. James Gunn thought that the Succession finale “truly stuck the landing.” He called it a “stunning finale that raises the bar on the storytelling capable on television.”

In season 3, Roy patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and his son Roman (Culkin) go to meet eccentric tech billionaire Lukas Mattsson (Skarsgård) as business revs up between Waystar and Mattsson’s GoJo. The Succession scene was recreated by James Gunn with his brother, which sees a side-by-side image of Roman and Lukas, and the two filmmaking brothers walking through the same gate.
The location used for the HBO series was Italy’s Villa La Cassinella at Lake Como. It is a beautiful compound for the billionaire, showcasing the beauty of the Italian landscape. It was just one of the many stunning locals used to show the life these uber-rich people live that disconnects them from the rest of the world.
As season 4 has wrapped, people who missed out can go to Max to check out what the fuss was about. It followed the Roy family as they figured out who would take over the family company when or if Logan Roy died. The comedy-drama showed the absurdity of rich people’s lives while also showing the danger of how people with wealth and power abuse their status.
