Marvel has revealed the first look at the upcoming Jane Foster & The Mighty Thor #1. Torunn Grosbeak and Michael Dowling’s new series sees Jane Foster picking up the hammer once again. This time, she is stepping in for a missing Thor Odinson. These preview pages show what is occurring on Asgard with Odinson gone. They also show Mjolnir seeking out Jane Foster to save the day.
What Can We Expect From This New Series?
The new series, from writer Torunn Gronbeck and artist Michael Dowling, will once again put Jane Foster at the God of Thunder’s helm. Some of Thor’s greatest enemies, including Hela, Ulik the Troll, and Enchantress, are up to no good. As these villains prepare to launch an assault on the Golden Realm, King Thor is nowhere to be found.
To save the day, Mjolnir finds its way back to Jane Foster. As it crashes into her living room, she again assumes The Mighty Thor’s form. Of course, that power comes at a price with the radiation of space affecting Jane’s mortal body. Still, when the galaxy needs saving, it seems Jane Foster will answer the call.
What Do The Preview Pages For Jane Foster & The Mighty Thor Show?
The sneak-peek from Marvel gives fans a taste of what is to come from Jane Foster’s next adventure. The first page of Dowling’s artwork shows Sif the All-Seer keeping tabs on an incoming elf army. Meanwhile, Beta Ray Bill approaches Sif from across the Bifrost. She reaches out to Jane and Mr. Horse only to discover a bloody Mjolnir waiting for Jane. As Jane reaches down to take the hammer, she is immediately transformed once again into The Mighty Thor.
Another sneak-peek shows the evil Enchantress in conversation with a cloaked figure. While there are no clues or hints as to who is behind the hood, it can’t be anyone good. Surely, this conversation is leading to some more trouble for Jane and Asgard.
Jane Foster & The Mighty Thor #1 is on sale on June 8.
