Marvel’s Avengers may not be available for another nine months, but the development team at Square Enix is filling the void by showcasing the cast on social media.
The crew began their focus on the man put on ice and leader of the Avengers, Captain America. Voiced by Jeff Schine, who appeared in Kingdom Hearts III, Just Cause 4, and Red Dead Redemption II, he states that he is no stranger to Marvel comics. Schine says his first interaction with Marvel was when he read a short run of Iron Man comics as a kid.
“My first memory with a Marvel comic book was a small Iron Man run where he was paralyzed, I think from a gunshot. I remember even as a kid it having an impact on me seeing a Super Hero in such a human condition.”

Above you can see Schine decked out in the motion capture suit he wore for the role of Captain America. He even comes complete with his own shield.
Schine says he believes what makes Cap such an iconic hero and character is that he is a normal guy, well aside from the super enhancements anyway.
“I think what makes him human is what makes him super. Yes, he has super strength & agility, but he’s also just a man. He isn’t a god, isn’t a Hulk, he faces everything as a human, (he’s) vulnerable. It is also his relentless pursuit of trying to do the right thing that I think makes him the most super. The choice to do the right thing, even when it’s the hard thing.
However, Schine’s response about what a superpower he wishes he could have differed slightly from the star-spangled man.
“I think I’d pick a suite of super powers. Strength, agility, and super self-healing.”
That’s a little more along the lines of Spider-Man or quite possibly Wolverine.
As far as actually playing the game, Schine says he’s most excited for players to be able to become a hero and see how each actor and actress portrays them. The last part really holds true because Crystal Dynamics says this iteration of the characters will be much different than their movie counterparts.
Marvel’s Avengers will release for PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One, and Google Stadia May 15, 2020.
