John Wesley Shipp will come to The CW’s Elseworlds to reprise his role as The Flash (complete with original costume). The three-night TV event seems to be getting bigger and bigger.
Stephen Amell, star of Arrow, shared an image on Twitter of himself as The Flash, John Wesley Shipp’s Flash, Melissa Benoist as Supergirl, and Grant Gustin as Arrow all standing together on set. “No big deal. Just working with @JohnWesleyShipp for the first time. Nice of him to dress up for the occasion,” stated the actor.

John Wesley Shipp first appeared as Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash for one season of its 1990 TV show. More recently, Shipp joined the cast of The CW’s The Flash as Henry Allen, Barry’s father.
It’s hard to tell which version of The Flash that Shipp will be portraying considering Henry’s death in season 2 of The Flash. Shipp returned to the show as Jay Garrick, the “Golden Age” Flash soon after, so it is possible that’s who we might be getting in Elseworlds. Given the strange nature of Elseworlds, Shipp could even be reprising his role as Barry Allen in the upcoming series.
We still aren’t exactly sure what the plot of the three-night Elseworlds event will be, but we do know that in addition to The CW’s DC characters that we’ve come to love, the heroes will cross paths with some other familiar faces, including Ruby Rose‘s Batwoman.
