Warner Bros. Japan and Netflix have announced a release date for Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean part 2. The second part will consist of the episodes 13-24 episodes. This announcement was made during a stage presentation that took place Saturday afternoon. Along with that, the anime will also air on television in Japan this year as well. The event also released a new visual along with a 10th-anniversary project for the franchise.
David productions is returning to produce the second half of the series as they’ve done in the past. The same director behind Diamond is Unbreakable and Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan is also coming back for the second half.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean: The Continuing Fight for the Joestar Bloodline
The Stone Ocean manga is the sixth part of the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure manga. The entire Stone Ocean arc ran from 1999 to 2003 and has 17 volumes overall. It also continues the long-running, overarching story from the other entrees. Netflix describes the story as
Florida, USA, 2011. After an accident while on a drive with her sweetheart, Joylne Cujoh falls into a trap and is sentenced to fifteen years. She is sent to the state-run maximum security correctional facility; Green Dolphin Street Prison- AKA “the aquarium”. Inexplicible evennts start to occur one after another, and the horrifying truth told by her father is revealed. Will Joylne ultimately be set free from this stone ocean they call a prison. The final battle to end century-long fateful confrontations between the Joestar family and DIO begins!
Hirohiko Araki’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure manga series was originally published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. In 2012, David Productions finally adapted the story into an anime series, starting with the first arc, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood. As of now, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean premiered as the most-watched title n Netflix among Japanese viewers and the sixth most amongst viewers in the United States. Netflix debuted the first 12 episodes of the anime on December 1st, 2021. The series also aired on television in January.
Along with the release date of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean part 2, it has also been confirmed that another spinoff will be hitting the big screen. Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan will also be releasing a new, multi-part story.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean part 2 will come to Netflix in the fall of 2022.
